Clinical E-mail Policy

Email Policy

More efficient use of our clinicians’ time means more time to create better things for you in the long run.  We’d  like to take this moment to clarify our email policy.  As much as we absolutely love what we do and desire to communicate promptly to emails, the volume has become unsustainable.  We’ll be enforcing clearer boundaries and clearer definitions of email types.

Complimentary Emails 
This type of email should require less than 2 minutes of clinician time to respond.  They are often an email to clarify a past treatment protocol or ease anxiety over a quick and specific concern relating to a topic you’ve previously discussed.  They do not introduce new concerns or elaborate progress on symptoms.

They are non-emergency and a response time within 72hrs will be attempted. We will schedule a block of time to address patient emails 2-3 times a week, sometimes less when on holidays and at conferences.

Consultation Emails (normal fees apply) 
Emails that communicate the progression of an old concern will be subject to regular consultation fees.  We will respond and make this clear before hand and you can decide whether to proceed with a response via email consult, telephonic consult or in person consult.  In many situations email are not a fair way to assess a situation.  It’s almost impossible for us to give you a very responsible recommendation without the ability to ask clarifying questions etc.  If you wish to discuss a new concern, you will have to schedule an in-person visit at normal sliding-scale rates.

Administrative questions or non-threatening emergency in which a response of less than 72hrs is required. 
Questions regarding appointment, supplements are often best taken care of with our Operations Director. Please call Briana at 619.546.4806.  If you have an issue that is pressing and a response time of 72hrs is not acceptable please call the office and they will do their best to arrange a meeting prior.  If it is an emergency situation, please do not delay care and go to your nearest Urgent Care center or call 911 immediately.
