– Helping Yourself, Helping Others —
Volunteering is the practice of working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Volunteering is an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. One of the biggest benefits people get from volunteering is the satisfaction of incorporating service into their lives and making a difference in their community and country. The intangible benefits alone—such as pride, satisfaction and accomplishment—are worthwhile reasons to serve.
We at the Alternative Healing Network have several opportunities for volunteering:
~College-level 4-8 month structured apprenticeships
~Administrative and health care practitioners for weekly events
~One-time Event Staff (Alternative Happy Hour, Healing Arts Festival, etc)
We are presently seeking Apprentices or Volunteers for:
-Assistant Clinic Management
- Grant Writing
- Social Media Management
- Legal Aide
- Website Maintenance
- Event Staff
- Sales & Marketing (for Events)
- Health Care Professionals
For Integrative Health Nights and our “Alternative Happy Hours” we are always looking for licensed and insured: massage therapists, HHP’s, acupuncturists, chiropractors, energy healers, yoga instructors, administrative personnel, Medical Doctors, RN’s, and other healers and teachers.
Benefits of Volunteering
~ Professional Benefits: graduates can meet people and gain work experience through interning. At Adams Avenue Integrative Health, when you are accepted into an administrative or leadership internship, you will have the opportunity to greatly expand your understanding of the Integrative Health Care industry. At our clinic, we have a robust training program, with progressively expanding opportunities to further your professional development as either a leader or practitioner in Integrative Health and Wellness. Definitely a boost for your career options!
~ Social Benefits: volunteering helps to build more cohesive communities, fostering greater trust between citizens and developing norms of solidarity and reciprocity that are essential to stable communities.
~ Wellness Benefits: by volunteering with organizations whose main focus is educating the general public and making them aware of alternative, preventative and integrative health options you contribute to the all around wellness of your community.
